Corn Exchange Leeds
The original Corn Exchange was in New Briggate, the current building built completed in 1863 by the architect Cuthbert Broderick, also famous for the Town Hall and is one of Britain's finest Victorian buildings. From Boar lane the building appears to be circular, but is clearly oval in shape when you go inside.
In recent years the Corn Exchange has gone a major redevelopment, into a fabulous shopping mall. Many of the shops sell goods that are that little bit different. Shopping is a pleasure in the Corn Exchange. List of Corn exchange Shops
Take a note of the glass roof, designed to let in plenty of light but keep out direct sunlight. |
