History Of The Corn Exchange
The original Corn Exchange was in New Briggate, the current building built completed in 1863 by the architect Cuthbert Brodrick , also famous for LeedsTown Hall and is one of Britain's finest Victorian buildings. From Boar lane the building appears to be circular, but is clearly oval in shape when you go inside. Take a note of the glass roof, designed to let in plenty of light but keep out direct sunlight.
These photographs are a few years old & the shops & restaurants have changed.
